The Digital & Darkroom Print Event
4 Days, 11 Galleries – March 2 -5, 2011.
“The Weekend of Prints, Inc” announces the 4-day, multi-gallery Digital and Darkroom Print Event March 2-5, 2011. Photography enthusiasts are invited view and purchase work in 11 different galleries throughout Denver’s well known Santa Fe, Golden Triangle and Broadway and Tennyson Street art districts. Each gallery will be featuring accepted works from an open call inviting artists to submit their best photographic prints that were created using traditional darkroom or modern digital techniques. In addition to showcasing prints, many of the galleries will be holding their scheduled exhibits. Participating galleries include: Artwork Network, Black Book Gallery, Carla Wright Gallery, Illiterate Gallery, Niza Knoll Gallery, Open Press Gallery, Sellars Project Space, Space Gallery, Vertigo Art Space, and Z Art Dept.
Wednesday, March 2nd – Show begins. Regular gallery hours.
Thursday, March 3rd – Regular gallery hours and Opening Night: 6-8 pm
Friday, March 4th – Regular gallery hours and First Friday Art Walk until 9pm.
Saturday, March 5th – Regular gallery hours - Show closes at 5 pm.
Additionally, visitors can enter a prize drawing by signing up at any of the participating galleries.
“The Weekend of Prints, Inc” is a group of established Denver artists including Mark Lunning, Mark Sink, Marina Graves and Greg Cradick. The goal of this and other print events is to raise awareness about all methods of printmaking and how individuals can easily acquire, build and maintain a collection of original art by purchasing signed and authenticated fine art prints.
Two classes on collecting photography and prints will be offered during March as an extension of this event:
“The First Step: A Beginners Guide to Collecting” by Greg Cradick and Mark Lunning will be held on Saturday March 12 from 12 -3 pm at the Redline Art Center, 2350 Arapahoe St. in Denver.
“The Next Step: Intermediate to Advanced Collecting” offered by Mark Sink and Marina Graves, will be held on Saturday March 26 from 12-3 pm also at RedLine. For more information:

This exhibition will coincide with the beginning of the Month of Photography, Denver (MoP), which is a celebration of fine art photography through over 80 collaborative public events throughout Denver and the region for the month of March 2011.
